OUR BEGINNING

In the winter of 1910-1911, while conducting a great revival meeting Rev. O. L. Ferguson was contacted to conduct a revival in Circleville...Rev. Ferguson agreed, and the second floor over the Circleville Oil Company on West Mound Street was used for the revival.

God blessed that revival mightily. The meeting held to organize First Church took place on February  21, 1911, in the home of John Arledge of Circleville. Plans were made to raise money to purchase a lot and to build a church. The building on Ohio Street was completed several months later, with a fair share of work being performed by the ladies, who helped carry lumber and nail lathe on the building.

The first revival was held in our church building on December 1911. During this revival, 60 more names were added to the membership list. For the first 32 years, Rev. O. L. Ferguson pastored this church. The large stained-glass window on the front of the church is dedicated in his memory.

We are very appreciative of the people in the past and those of the present who have made and are still making Circleville First Church the church God wants us to be. For over 100 years, God has used our church to reach the people of Pickaway County.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Churches of Christ in Christian Union is a Wesleyan-Holiness and Restorationist Christian denomination...What does that mean?

It means we teach the Holy Bible as God's Word, in its entirety (Wesleyan-Holiness), and we believe that the best way to better know Christ is to not rely on this world to teach us but rely on traditional church teachings (Restorationist Christian).

WHY WE EXIST

Our goal is simple- help fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20).

We go and make followers of Jesus!

KNOW CHRIST'S LOVE

We first have to KNOW about and receive God's gift of Grace by accepting that we all fall short of the glory of God and ask God to change our life and live within us.

It doesn't matter where you are at, or what you've done, God is always there waiting for you. Nobody is in too worse of a place or need to be "fixed" before coming to God!

Once we have a one-on-one relationship with God we can then truly start to understand how to grow in Him.

GROW IN CHRIST'S LOVE

The Bible is the blueprint on how we should live our lives and grow in Christ. We strongly believe that if we follow the Word that we will grow stronger not only with God but as a person, as a church and as a community.

We rely heavily on what the Bible says so that we may not stray away from the path that God has set before us. He has left us a specific set of plans (The Bible) that he wants us to follow, and it is our mission to follow His instructions

His biggest mission to Go and make followers of Christ!

GO IN CHRIST'S LOVE

As we love one another and follow God's plan we will grow stronger as believers.

As we continue to grow in Christ's love and reach the lost and broken, and extend grace, God will bless our efforts.

As we go beyond our Church walls and into the city, into the community, and into the world- only then will we be fulfilling our greatest calling of becoming Disciples.

HELPING PEOPLE KNOW, GROW AND GO IN CHRIST'S LOVE
